Lineup
ProTennis.fun is an active game where you are required to select your weekly lineup to compete in the upcoming Weekly Tournament.
Every week, you will need to select a total of five players who will compete for your squad:
1 captain, scoring a bonus 1.2x points
3 standard players
1 reserve player
Reserve player points will be accounted for only in the case of a no-show (for any reason) by one of your 3 standard players.
Every player in your "Active" tab is eligible to be used in a lineup, as long as you own at least 50 shares of the player.
As Tennis is an intensely strategic sport, divided into worldwide competitions, not every player will be competing in every tournament every week: you will need to choose between allocating your resources wisely to have multiple available lineups to collect as many TP as possible, or building all-star portfolios to maximize the amount of TP you earn in fewer tournaments.
Salary Cap
The Salary Cap is a fundamental balancing mechanism for weekly tournaments, designed to prevent the creation of "super-teams" and reward users' managerial skills.
The main goal of the Spending Cap is to prevent users from fielding only the top players in the world in the same lineup:
Team Limit: Each user has a maximum budget of 100 UC (Cap Units) to build their roster of 5 players.
Strategy: This limit forces the user to make strategic choices, balancing expensive "Top Players" with "Hidden Gems" or mid-level players (cheaper) who might have a favorable schedule.
Each tennis player has a weekly fictitious cost called Salary. This value is not static but is calculated algorithmically based on three key factors:
Performance: player's recent average Match Score. If a player is winning a lot, their cost goes up.
Market Value: the average price of players' shares on the platform. The most valuable players cost more to field.
Popularity: an internal metric indicating how often that player is chosen by other users.
To avoid excessively violent fluctuations that could disrupt someone's team, the new salary is based on a weighted average against the previous salary.
How Do I Lock My Lineup?
Select your Players
Navigate to the Lineup section in the Tournament Page. You can select the players you want in your Team here. You can only select players with enough Contracts to be played in at least one (1) tournament.
As you build your lineup, make sure not to go over the Salary Cap.
Portfolio Management
You might be wondering if your players are tradeable when picked for a tournament. The answer is yes! We believe that capital availability and liquidity are two fundamental pieces of our platform, hence why, during a tournament, you'll always be able to trade your player shares under the following conditions:
The total contributing points your players make towards your leaderboard position in a weekly tournament are calculated based on the ratio of your holdings before the tournament vs your holdings at the end of the tournament.
Additional purchased shares won't count towards the contributing points calculation if bought once the lineup is locked and the tournament has started.
Examples: You own 100 shares of Sinner at the beginning of a tournament. During the tournament, you sell 50 shares, and Sinner scores you 100 points. Instead of earning 100 contributing points, you'll now earn only 50, because you sold 50% of your Sinner
